Experienced Fence Installers Make All The Difference

With a weak economy, there has been a skyrocket of new contractors entering fields in which they have no business entering.  From plumbing, to HVAC, and even in our own field of fence installation, we have seen a number of “jack of all trades, master of none,” type contractors that sell individuals on their services only to require more expensive (and even repeated) vinyl fence repair Utah fencing down the road.   We recently heard from one such customer that decided to allow a fence company Utah contractor to install a vinyl fence for his yard.  The contractor ordered fence components from a large well known fence company Utah retailer, and informed the customer that the wait would be approximately 1 month, which is unfortunate since here at vinyl industries we have our materials on hand.  The contractor then dug post holes by hand without any machinery and didn’t dig the holes deep enough when he encountered large rocks.  The mixed-by-hand cement was poured, and finally the fence components arrived.  The contractor then raised his bid because the customer had not obtained the bid in writing.  The inexperienced contractor installed fence posts with various degrees of height due to the unequal post depths that had been dug.  In addition, the posts were all wobbly and not stable.  When we received a call from the customer for fence repair, we couldn’t believe what we found.  Because the customer was not aware of the different quality of vinyl, the contractor had purchased the cheapest one-layer vinyl available that would be sure to break with minimal impact.  The measurements of the slats between the posts were incorrect, resulting in slats that popped out of place in moderately strong wind.  The gate that was installed had a huge gap from the top of the fence, to the bottom, making the gate look crooked (which it was).  Because we are a reputable fence repair Utah company, we were able to fix some of the customer’s fence issues for relatively low cost, but overall the fence will likely need to be torn out and re-installed with proper specifications and proper long-lasting vinyl fencing.  Don’t waste your money on “jack of all trade, master of none” contractors.  Call Vinyl Industries and we’ll do it RIGHT the FIRST time!
